Layout # 37 & 38 - 2010 Layout Challenge

I am finding it increasingly difficult to think about scrapbooking when the temperature outside is soaring to 29 degrees again today! Am I really in Winnipeg??? However, it has been brought to my attention (you know who you are! lol) that I haven't posted a new layout for the CTMH 2010 layout challenge lately.

The "Spooky" layout is a duplication of a layout that I did at a crop in Barrie, ON. Dianna from the LSS "Scraps of Joy" taught this class back in 2005? and I loved it. My son's co-workers dressed up for Halloween last year as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Bowser and I thought this would be great for his album! Supplies used: CTMH cardstock, patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket, Cricut "George" cartridge for title, epoxy letter stickers (unknown brand), oval punch to create pumpkin, hole punch (3 sizes) from Making Memories, black CTMH distressing ink, and scrap yarn for stitching.

Watermelons is a layout from the cruise I took with my Mom. While we spent the day lounging on the beach, the crew from the Ruby Princess was busy carving these beautiful creations! Such talent! Supplies: Patterned paper from WeR Memory Keepers and Rhonna Farrer-Autunm Leaves, ribbon from Costco and Michaels, CTMH "Big Pink" flower, crushed velvet flower from ??, acrylic flower button from Recollections(Michaels) and chipboard letters from Kurio-K&Company.

Cards!!

For all those just dying to know how many cards I made.........the answer is 69!!! I am not sure if I managed to get them all in this photo, but they are all on the table. I can't wait to get another stack going to use up my scraps from the cruise albums I am working on right now. (One for me, then duplicate pages for my Mom so there are lots of leftovers!)

Challenge!

I have a tendency to hoard my stuff! Even the scraps left over from a layout! I am always afraid to waste the paper I love so much and think that I will use it on something. So I don't know about you, but my scrap pile was taking over my space! LOL I had to do something with all that beautiful paper. I separated all the pieces by colour first, then picked out cardstock pieces that would be large enough for a card base, then matched up a couple of different patterned paper scraps with each base. This is the stack I ended up with and my scrap container is still fairly full! Now, how many cards do you think I made with this pile? I admit, some of them are not completely finished, but I have the base cards done so that when the occasion arises that requires a card, all I have to do is stamp a sentiment! So my challenge to you is this: get those scraps out, match them up with cardstock bases, pile them up and then the next time you have a few minutes, make a few of them up! You will be surprised how quickly you will be able to complete a few cards!

Anyone care to guess how many cards I made? I'll post the answer and the finished cards in a few days!

Layout # 35 & 36 2010 Layout Challenge

Looking back on my last few posts, it would seem that I don't use the products I sell! Not so, and just to prove that, here are two layouts using CTMH products exclusively!

Paper pack is Topstitch, "Charmed", "Simple Stitches", and "Noted Backgrounds" CTMH My Acrylix stamp sets, Topstitch My Stickease, clear buttons, Bitty Sparkles, chocolate and colonial white cardstock, chocolate marker for journalling. The second layout is from our "Reflections" Scrapbook Program by Jeanette Lynton.

Layout 34 2010 Layout Challenge

This layout was "lifted" from Scrapbook and Cards as a challenge layout for the Gimli Retreat. The photos are almost 20 years old now, but they are still some of my favourite pictures of my boys! I used a Bazzill cardstock base, textured cardstock from CTMH, paper from Wild Asparagus, CTMH clear buttons, felt flower ribbon, Softly Spoken dimensional cardstock sticker, chipboard from Maya Road, white Signo pen to do the faux stitching, dabber paint in "Pool" from Ranger and Glimmer Mist in "Frost" on the chipboard, corner rounder, vellum quote from Flair Designs, CTMH hemp in natural.

Layout # 32 & 33 2010 Layout Challenge

OK, this post is for Tracey, one of my fellow scrappers for the past two weekends! Photos were taken in Grand Cayman last March at a turtle farm. The first layout has papers and embellishments from Basic Gray Archaic collection, bazzill card stock, buttons, black flocking, and brown felt "Thickers". For the second one, I used paper from My Minds Eye, the same brown "Thickers", stickers from Jolee's, frame from MME, title sticker from BoBunny, and "Journey" jounalling spots from CTMH . So my only problem with these layouts is: Is Iguanas the proper plural form? It looks funny to me.....guess I should dig out the dictionary.

Layout # 28-31 2010 Layout Challenge

I just attended a fantastic scrappin' getaway in Gimli this past weekend, hosted by Kim from The Scrappin' Studio. My wonderful friend from Ontario (also named Kim) flew here to attend this event with me....along with a couple of my friends from here in Winnipeg. We had a blast, lots of laughs, fun in the hot tub, and managed to get a few pages done too! And one of those friends (not mentioning any names....Tracey) chided me for not posting any layouts here lately! LOL So here you go Tracey!!

The first three are photos taken last year at Capt. Kennedy's Museum and Tea Room near Lockport, MB. My mom was visiting from Nova Scotia and we went for lunch and strolled through the English garden. The paper, titles, embellishments are all from We R Memory Keepers Designer scrapbook pad - Tiffany's, edge punch from EK Success, brown marker used for journaling. The fourth layout is one of those layouts that you put off doing because the photos aren't great or you just don't really know what you want to do, both apply in this case. The pictures were taken on a cruise and it was the first time I had seen a champagne waterfall so I felt the need to include them in the album. The paper is really old paper that I picked up at Micheals and it was supposed to resemble an artist's painting. Topped it with a piece of lace card stock from K I Memories, photos are matted with card stock.

Lots more layouts to come....and I have another day crop that I am attending on Saturday. I hope to get many more done so that it gets me a little ahead of the game before the really nice weather hits and I don't want to be indoors!
