If you came from Michelle's blog, then you are in the right place!

I had a layout class last night, and chose to do one of the layouts from our Sparkle & Shine Workshop On The Go Scrapbooking Kit - with a couple of modifications.  I love the layout as it is pictured, but didn't have enough of the Ruby patterned paper and zip strips for everyone.  The first change I made was to substitute our Ruby Shimmer Tape for the zip strips.
Then, I thought it needed a little more bling, so I added some mini-sparkles and some Red Glitter Gel to the title piece, and to the stamped starbursts.
I also didn't have enough of the yoyo's from the embellishment package, so we made our own using some paper from an older collection that just happened to be juniper, added a red button and some black hemp and voila!
And then, because I didn't have enough of the ruby patterned paper from the Sparkle & Shine collection, I needed to find a substitute for the Cricut cuts for the scalloped-edged photo mats.  I cut 1/4" strips instead and punched them with our scallop edge punch and made my own frames with the pieces.  A little more work, but it was that or just use Ruby cardstock - I love the patterned paper so opted for a little more work!  There are ways around everything!

The card below was created for a gathering I did a couple of weeks ago, and I wanted to use our Stamp of the Month from last month - "Scandinavian Wishes".  Sparkle & Shine striped paper looks great on the clean white card.

If you would like more information about how I created either project, leave me a comment or send me an e-mail - I would love to hear from you!

Your next stop on the Cross Canada Hop is Sheri of Sheri Says Just Scrap It!  If you get lost along the way, you can head to Michelle's blog, My Creations With Michelle as she has the complete blog list.

Holidays From the Heart Gift Guide Hop

I am so excited to be participating for the first time in this hop!  We are showcasing new product from our Holiday Gift Guide which is available TODAY - view the guide online by clicking the link at the side or contact me to get your copy!

I have put together an envelope mini album that I originally thought I would use to store Christmas gift tags, but have decided it is too pretty and plan to add some photos instead!  The envelopes were made with Kraft card stock and Liquid Glass, the cover is Kraft c/s as well.  After assembling the envelopes,  I bound them all together using my Zutter (had to brush the dust off that puppy!!)  Then the fun part - decorating with the gorgeous papers from our Sparkle and Shine paper collection.  I just love the prints and the shimmer of the silver in some of the papers - just a note though, the silver doesn't take ink well as you may notice with one of my stamped images.  Here are the pics of what I made, starting with the cover:

I added a small Sparkle Clear Flourish as well as a corduroy flower from our Ruby Mini Medley Collection and a bit of organza ribbon to tie on the binding.  Some twine from our Frosted Card Making kit tied in a bow holds the mini album together.  Here are the inside pages:
Notice the stamped image in the top left corner of the silver houndstooth - the silver resists the ink!
Zip Strips from the tops of our papers are great for embellishing.....don't throw them away.  Tree image is from the stamp set from our Frosted Card Making kit, stamped with Slate ink.
Added a little sparkle with our Ruby Shimmer Trim....
Back cover.  All paper was sponge distressed with Ruby ink before adhering.
View of the completed album from above.  Lots of room for photos and space to tuck more inside, or add mementos, notes, etc.
If you  would like the template for the envelope and cover, let me know.  I'd be happy to send it to you!!

The Holidays From the Heart Gift Guide promo is this:  Purchase $100 before shipping & tax from the Holiday Gift Guide and choose any one "star" item for FREE.  Star items are marked in the Guide - happy shopping!!

Our theme this month is "Give Thanks" and I have created three items to show you today.  The first is a layout that I was inspired to do from a layout by Carolyn Burch.  I used "Artbooking" to create the tree and the photo mats, title and pumpkin.  The base paper is from "Sarita" and there is a little "Huntington" in there too.  I love our new jute ribbon and the Rosewood Embellishments! A little glitter gel on the leaves in the title and some glitter & shimmer paper along with cardstock for the tree leaves added that little bit of sparkle to the layout. Now I just need to add some photos!

Next, I have a couple of cards I created for recent classes.  Both feature Huntington papers and again, I used the burlap ribbon.  The stampset on the first card is "Always Grateful", one of my favourite new stamp sets.  The second card was stamped with "Poster Tidings" which was our Stamp of the Month for September.

Your next stop on the Team Braer hop is Brae's blog .

Thanks for hopping along with us - we hope we were able to inspire you to create your own projects using some of the designs and paper seen along the way. Join us again in November when we will be featuring gifts to make for the Holidays.  See you next month!!

If you came from Darla’s blog of www.stampingunderdoctorsorders.blogspot.ca, you are in the right place!

I participated several times in a “layout” swap with some of my CTMH sisters where we created all the pieces to complete 12 x 12 layouts, swapped and added them to our own cardstock bases!  This layout was one that I received from Kim McArthur and I am finally able to use it for some sweet pictures of my grandson!  BIG NEWS too, I am going to be a grandma again!!!

This layout uses a retired paper pack from CTMH called “Caboodle” and I added some MS embellishments, but doesn’t that little teddy bear just look so cute on this layout!

Our stamps are not just for card making!!  The stamp set I chose is called “Teddy Bear Birthday” A1143 and I think that little bear is so cute for baby layouts!

This month, we are focusing on projects we have made with our new Cricut "Artbooking" cartridge.  I chose to do this layout, I couldn't wait to create that hexagon overlay.  I mixed and matched elements from a couple of different keys, but I loved how I could just set my dial at one size and cut everything to fit perfectly on the page.  I also used some of the "negative" pieces to create the border on the right page.

Don't even ask me about these photos.....what happens at the cottage, stays at the cottage!! LOL

Products Used: All CTMH - Artbooking Cricut Cartridge, Cocoa, Topiary, Honey, White Daisy, & Twilight cardstock & inks, stamp set from Artbooking bundle,  Slate Washi tape, Scholastic paper pack, Baker's twine, durables studs.

Your next stop on the hop is Lucy's blog .  Thanks for hopping along with us - we hope we were able to inspire you to create your own projects using some of the designs and paper seen along the way. Join us again in next month!!

More challeges!

I don't know about you, but I love challenge blogs! I follow quite a few of them and every week I note what the challenges are, but most weeks I don't find the time to complete any of them!  The sketches I really love get added to my sketch file for future use, and I start all over again in the new week.  This past week, I decided to finish up some projects while my husband was away and try to fulfill some of those challenges!  This layout was quick with the help of some Cricut cuts and I added some chipboard circles to enter this in Frosted Design's Fabulous Friday chipboard challenge!  I also wanted to participate in Scrap It With A Song's David Bowie "Fantastic Voyage" challenge - this was a day in port during a fantastic cruise with my husband, my mom and my aunt!

2013 Challenge - 15  Layouts

If you came from Michelle's of http://mycreationswithmichelle.blogspot.com/2013/08/krafty-projects-august-blog-hop.html then you are in the right place!

I chose to do a project with our new Kraft 8 x 8 binder, one of my favourite new products in the Autumn Winter Idea Book:

Our Frosted paper pack is another of my favourites, I love the soft colours and of course, the snowflakes!  Sooo pretty!
Don't you just love those rosettes!?  The ruby coloured ones were made using the Artbooking Cartridge rolled flower cut and our quilling tool.  The blush and colonial white felt flowers are part of our Frosted Assortment.  And notice the scallop border cut with our new punch!

The title was cut with Art Philosophy three times and layered on top of each other to resemble chipboard.  I then "flooded" the top of the title with lots of Liquid Glass. (you will want to let that dry for quite a while!)  I love the glossy look of the title!  The leaves were cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge.

My binder was looking a little empty, so I then decided to cut some 8 x 8 pages and overlays using our new "Artbooking" cartridge.  I have not really finished embellishing them yet, and don't have all the photo mats on them, but wanted to include them just to show you some of the cuts possible with this fantastic cartridge!

These pictures make the cardstock look really blue, but it is Twilight, along with Cashmere, Ruby, and Champagne.

Supplies used for this project:  X7175B Frosted Paper pack, Z1890 Frosted Assortment, Z1871 My Creations Kraft 3-ring Binder, Z1812 Sparkles Clear Flourishes, small, Z1752 Sparkles Clear Assortment, Z679 Liquid Glass, Ruby, New England Ivy, Cashmere, Twilight, Champagne cardstocks, Cashmere ink, D1795 Quilling Tool, Z1151 Foam Tape, Z553 Glue Pen, Z1851 Scallop Border Punch, Cricut Art Philosophy, Artiste, and Artbooking cartridges.  I also used a non-CTMH punch to punch the ruby snowflakes.

Your next stop on the Cross Canada Hop is Nicola of http://timelesscottagenb.blogspot.com/2013/08/cross-canada-blog-hop-kraft-products.html  If you get lost along the way, you can head to Michelle's blog, http://mycreationswithmichelle.blogspot.ca, as she has the complete blog list.

Card # 19 2013 Layout Challenge

I haven't posted a card for awhile and I have really wanted to participate in the Atlantic Hearts Challenge that is hosted by two of my CTMH sisters from Halifax.  These are the two girls I roomed with at Convention (Michelle & Darla) and they are a lot of fun, so go play!!  This is my entry for this week's challenge sketch:

All materials are Close To My Heart except the bakers twine: C1533 Fabulous You was the stamp set I used to stamp the background pattern, the bird, and the sentiment.  Added a couple of Z1335 Licorice Opaque Gems.  Other supplies included twilight, black and white cardstock, Scholastic paper, twilight and black inks. I also used our water brush along with some Watercolour pencils to add a little colour to the bird and CTMH Artiste to cut the piece for the sentiment.

Workshop on the Go - Canvas

I held a workshop on Sunday and had tons of fun creating my canvas - I couldn't wait to share it with you!  The kit comes with almost everything you see, in two different colour schemes so it is sure to work with whatever photos you choose to use.  It has it's own stamp set too and is on sale right now, but only for a few more days - see my link on my sidebar to purchase!  Here we go:
It helps when you have such an adorable photo to work with!

We jazzed up the edges of our canvases with Inka Gold - a wonderful, shimmery wax-based paste you can apply with your fingers from Viva Décor.

I replaced the bling that comes in the kit with these cute little brads that I bought at Michaels. These pictures don't show the richness of the colours, but I am so happy with my piece - it's already on display in my classroom!
So, what are you waiting for? Get the kit at over 50% off and create your own little masterpiece!

Layout 13 2013 Challenge

Happy 4th of July to all my friends in the US!  I will be celebrating with you tonight because our Canada Day fireworks were postponed until tonight due to weather on the 1st.

Convention excitement still reigns in my house though!! I have ordered product bundles, my new Idea Books should be here tomorrow, but until all that arrives, I have the goodies that I brought home with me from Orlando to play with.  However, I want to try to get caught up with my blog posting as well, so here's a quick layout I did of my niece and her daughter:

I used really, really old paper for this layout - I think it's been in my stash for about 8 years, just waiting for the perfect pictures!!! Isn't that crazy?  Now, I have adopted a policy to "just USE it!"  Those "perfect" photos sometimes never come and I have so much beautiful paper that I just can't leave sitting in my scraproom.
