OK, here we go.....

Well, as you already know, I fell short of my posting goal for last year, again!  In my defense, I DID create the 52 layouts last year, but quite a few of them still need journalling and so I have an "unfinished layout" pile on my desk - again!!  So my goal for myself this year is going to be to finish those unfinished projects I have on the go, and they are not all scrapbooking/cardmaking related.  I have a quilt that's half finished, a scarf that just needs to be cast off, and a couple of home decor projects that need to be completed.  I sometimes feel overwhelmed when I look at my "to do" list but always feel so much better when I can check something off!  Here's my unfinished project pile on my desk:
And here are a couple of the layouts that were in that pile:

I love using Page Maps sketches to create my layouts and this is one of them.  If you don't already subscribe, go to PageMaps.com to sign up for the monthly e-mail containing free sketches.
This patterned paper is from Creative Memories and was done as part of a challenge at a crop held at Kings Edgehill School.  I love the vibrant colours - perfect for these pictures of Tyler.
Another thing that makes me happy is using my stash, and I have a large one!  The 12 x 12 overlay on this last layout has been in my craft room for several years now, waiting for the right picture - all I had to do was add some brads and a tag and I was done!

More to come!

More challeges!

I don't know about you, but I love challenge blogs! I follow quite a few of them and every week I note what the challenges are, but most weeks I don't find the time to complete any of them!  The sketches I really love get added to my sketch file for future use, and I start all over again in the new week.  This past week, I decided to finish up some projects while my husband was away and try to fulfill some of those challenges!  This layout was quick with the help of some Cricut cuts and I added some chipboard circles to enter this in Frosted Design's Fabulous Friday chipboard challenge!  I also wanted to participate in Scrap It With A Song's David Bowie "Fantastic Voyage" challenge - this was a day in port during a fantastic cruise with my husband, my mom and my aunt!

Layout 106 & 107 2010 Layout Challenge

Do you use an ATG tape gun? Then I have something to tell you before I talk about the layouts. I received a gift subscription to Canadian Scrapbooker from my FANTASTIC friend Kim (lol....do you think she'll know how I feel??) and in the current issue, there is an ad for http://www.stix2kooltak.com/ . They just happen to sell the refill tape for the ATG along with other things, and they just happen to have a 40% off sale happening right now! I placed my order and wasn't charged shipping either!!! Just had to share!

More cruise layouts.....they all bring back such great memories for me. The first one is pretty basic, the photo was from the ship's photographers and although it's the "touristy" type shot, I love this picture of my Mom and I. I have so few of the two of us together. The second layout is from our adventure in Hell! When I came home from our trip, the newspaper that Saturday had this big travel article about Hell in the Cayman Islands. Photocopied, reduced, and reprinted it on cardstock so that I could include it in this layout. Then, a couple of weeks later, my letter to myself postmarked from Hell arrived! Had to include that too! I used more of the MM Passport collection for this one, I think the felt flower strip was from Queen & Co. That's it for now.....gotta go get some gifts wrapped for the mail!

Layout 104 & 105 2010 Layout Challenge

In between decorating the house for Christmas, making gifts, cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry, my hubby and I took some time on Saturday to visit our local scrapbook store - Scrapbookers Anonymous on Portage Ave. We walked in around 3:30 p.m. and the place was packed! They were having a birthday party for one of the ladies who "works" there (and she is obviously well loved!), but there were others like me, just there to shop. It was such a festive, joyous atmosphere and the store was celebrating by having a sale! My lucky day!!! Anyway, they had all the newest paper collections and embellishments in addition to well-stocked shelves with everything needed to create gorgeous layouts and cards. I was in my "happy place" if you know what I mean! lol! If you live in the city and haven't been in to the new location, go check it out!
OK, here we go with some more layouts - I need to get posting if I am going to make it to my goal of 120 for the year! These are both from my cruise album and were duplicated for my Mom's album as well.
Materials - "Paradise" - patterned paper was from Creative Imaginations, bazzill cardstock for matting photos, journalling card from Fancy Pants, laser cut title, sticker from Jolee's, stamped image from Scrappy Cat. "Dunn's River Falls" - MM "Passport" patterned paper, CTMH "Moon Doggie" paper, flowers cut from unknown brand paper, vellum quote from Deja Views, Cricut "Calligraphy" cartridge for title, phrase stickers from Reminisce, border sticker from Creative Memories.

Layout # 100 2010 Layout Challenge & BLOG CANDY!

I can't believe this is my 100th layout this year.....only 20 to go! When I started this challenge I wasn't completely sure that I could do it but now I know I can! To top it all off, I am celebrating my 1st anniversary of blogging! I think that calls for a little blog candy, don't you? I will photograph and post the picture of the "candy" on Friday, but for now, here is how you can win. Become a follower and leave a comment below to earn one entry - if you're already a follower you will get one entry as well. Then, tell all your friends about my candy giveaway. For every friend that becomes a follower and leaves a comment here indicating that you've sent them, you'll get another entry! If I reach 100 followers, I will add another prize! Man, I feel like Santa Claus! The only stipulation is that only Canadian addresses will be eligible to win due to the high cost of shipping outside Canada. November 30th, 2010 will be your last day to enter!

Edit: OK, the picture of the candy is here for everyone to see! Tons of great winter/Christmas paper including some from Close To My Heart, My Minds Eye (some glitter ones!), Echo Park, etc. Lots of cardstock as well, various brands including CTMH, Core'dinations, Echo Park, & Prism. "Candy Cane" and "Christmas Borders" Cuttlebug embossing folders, American Crafts mini album, CTMH Opaque Pearls, various ribbons and fibers, borders from Bazzill, misc. embellishments.

Layout # 99 2010 Layout Challenge & Christmas Cards!

Wooohooo! Almost to 100!! Another one from the cruise album. Enough said!
The Christmas cards were made using CTMH Jingle and Mistletoe paper packs, My Acrylix "A Timber" and "Holiday Commentary" stamp sets, and I made my own glitter brads with Liquid Glass and Prisma Glitter. Also used: punch from Martha Stewart, buttons from my stash. They were inspired by Jennifer Bennett.
Thanks Kim for your glowing comments on my last post....they warmed my heart!

Layout # 98 2010 Layout Challenge

OK, here we go with some more cruise layouts! I've kind of laid off them for awhile but trying to get them put away once and for all so my next few post are going to be layouts from the Caribbean cruise my Mom and I went on! All these were actually done twice, once for my album and then again for my Mom's. Still only gonna count them once because the second time was just copying. Because I had to do them twice and with limited time, I kept them fairly simple, focusing on the photos and journalling.....which I still have to do on some.
Cardstock and journalling card - CTMH, patterned paper from DCWV "Safari" paper pack and my stash, glitter die cut paper is KI Memories, stickers from my stash and Reminisce.

Layout # 47 - 50 2010 Layout Challenge

I am heading to Nova Scotia for my brother's wedding and will only have limited Internet access so I thought I should post a few more layouts before I go! The first three are from the cruise again, and you will probably notice that I haven't done the journaling yet....that will have to wait until I get back! I needed to finish my Mom's copy to take with me so that was the priority!

Bubbly - Printed glitter cardstock paper from K&C Happy Trails paper pad, scalloped-edge cardstock from DCWV cardstock stack, flower from Bazzill, chipboard center and tag from SEI, and letter stickers from my stash!

Layout 41 & 42 2010 Layout Challenge

Wow! It's the first of June already and I am feeling a little behind in my posts. I figured if I am doing 120 layouts this year, that would equate to 10 per month, which means I should have 50 posted at this point. Aaaaack! LOL.....I have them done so I am not really panicking.....just need to get "caught up" on the posting side! I am going to spend some time today photographing so I can get them up here! In the meantime, here's two more layouts from the cruise.
Beach Bum materials - white daisy card stock from CTMH, patterned paper from MyMindsEye- Kaleidoscope and Reminisce - Paradise collections, Orange ink from CTMH, stickers from Reminisce, "beach bum" die cut artwork from Dollarama, epoxy sticker from Michaels, flowers from Prima, glitter brad, button, ribbon and rickrack from my stash.
Princess Cays materials - Papers from MyMindsEye, Fancy Pants and Bazzill card stock. I'm not sure who the manufacturer of the "word" paper is. Chipboard stickers from ?, Prima felt flowers, flower and glitter brads from my stash, and natural hemp from CTMH

Layout # 40 2010 Layout Challenge

OK, so here come the cruise layouts, and there are lots of them. For the past couple of weeks, my husband and I have been sitting at our dining room table scrapbooking together. He is working on his Mom's old photos, I on photos from the cruise I took with my Mom last spring. I think it is so great that we share this "passion"!! I will post a couple of cruise layouts here and there, and mix in some other stuff so you don't get bored!
Supplies used: Paper from DCWV Tahiti paper pack, stickers from Little Yellow Bicycle, and gems from Kaiser. Photos matted with cardstock from CTMH and Bazzill.

Layout # 37 & 38 - 2010 Layout Challenge

I am finding it increasingly difficult to think about scrapbooking when the temperature outside is soaring to 29 degrees again today! Am I really in Winnipeg??? However, it has been brought to my attention (you know who you are! lol) that I haven't posted a new layout for the CTMH 2010 layout challenge lately.
The "Spooky" layout is a duplication of a layout that I did at a crop in Barrie, ON. Dianna from the LSS "Scraps of Joy" taught this class back in 2005? and I loved it. My son's co-workers dressed up for Halloween last year as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Bowser and I thought this would be great for his album! Supplies used: CTMH cardstock, patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket, Cricut "George" cartridge for title, epoxy letter stickers (unknown brand), oval punch to create pumpkin, hole punch (3 sizes) from Making Memories, black CTMH distressing ink, and scrap yarn for stitching.
Watermelons is a layout from the cruise I took with my Mom. While we spent the day lounging on the beach, the crew from the Ruby Princess was busy carving these beautiful creations! Such talent! Supplies: Patterned paper from WeR Memory Keepers and Rhonna Farrer-Autunm Leaves, ribbon from Costco and Michaels, CTMH "Big Pink" flower, crushed velvet flower from ??, acrylic flower button from Recollections(Michaels) and chipboard letters from Kurio-K&Company.

Layout # 32 & 33 2010 Layout Challenge

OK, this post is for Tracey, one of my fellow scrappers for the past two weekends! Photos were taken in Grand Cayman last March at a turtle farm. The first layout has papers and embellishments from Basic Gray Archaic collection, bazzill card stock, buttons, black flocking, and brown felt "Thickers". For the second one, I used paper from My Minds Eye, the same brown "Thickers", stickers from Jolee's, frame from MME, title sticker from BoBunny, and "Journey" jounalling spots from CTMH . So my only problem with these layouts is: Is Iguanas the proper plural form? It looks funny to me.....guess I should dig out the dictionary.
